The Comfort of Digital Dentistry at Fara Dent
What is a Guided Implant?
Guided Implant, or more commonly known as Guided Implant Surgery, is the process of placing dental implants into the jawbone by fully planning the procedure in advance using digital technology and carrying it out in full compliance with this plan.
This method eliminates “guesswork” in surgical procedures and ensures that the implant is placed in the most ideal position, angle, and depth within the jawbone.
What Are the Advantages of Guided Implantology?
The Guided Implant technique offers many significant advantages for both patients and surgeons:
- Maximum Precision and Reliability:
The treatment is performed based on digital models obtained from three-dimensional (3D) jaw tomography (CBCT) data and intraoral scans of the patient. This allows critical anatomical structures such as nerves, blood vessels, and sinus cavities to be identified with millimetric precision, ensuring the implant is placed in the safest possible area. - Minimally Invasive Surgery (Possibility of Stitch-Free Application):
Thanks to the pre-prepared surgical guide (Guide), there is no need to make a large incision in the area where the implant will be placed. In most cases, the procedure can be completed without stitches or with a very small incision. This minimizes the risk of postoperative pain, swelling, and bleeding for the patient. - Short Operation Time:
Since all planning is completed before surgery, the implant placement procedure is much faster. This significantly reduces the time the patient spends in the dental chair. - Fast Recovery and Comfort:
Being minimally invasive reduces tissue trauma. This accelerates the patient’s return to daily life and makes the healing process much more comfortable. - “Same-Day Teeth” Opportunity (Immediate Loading):
For patients with suitable bone structure, it may be possible to place a temporary prosthesis immediately on the implant (immediate loading) thanks to Guided Implant. This allows the patient to leave our clinic without being toothless.
Guided Implant Process at Fara Dent
At our polyclinic, the Guided Implant procedure progresses through the following stages using scientifically based methods and evidence-based treatment options:
- Digital Data Collection: The patient’s 3D tomography (CBCT) is taken, and a digital model of the teeth and jaw is created using intraoral scanners.
- Virtual Planning: Our specialist dentists Dt. Rabia Varol Boyraz and Dt. Fatma Şahin combine this digital data using specialized software and virtually place the implant by considering its ideal position, bone quality, and quantity.
- Surgical Guide Production: Once the planning is finalized, a personalized surgical guide (Guide) that fully matches this virtual plan is produced using 3D printers.
- Precision Surgery: During the operation, this guide is fixed to the patient’s jaw. The implant is placed into the bone with millimetric precision at the predetermined angle and depth, guided by this template.
